Mexican Pizza

Impress your amigos with our cracking Mexican Pizza. We used the Ziegler & Brown Triple grill with the optional trivet and pizza stone but you can use your pizza stone on any BBQ. You’ll need a flat hotplate as well or you can prepare the mince topping in advance.

01.

Replace the centre grill with the trivet, the side stamped ‘Pizza and Pans’ facing up

02.

Remove one side grill and replace with an optional hotplate, smooth side facing up

Turn on the burner directly under the hotplate and wait a few minutes for the plate to heat up

Once the hotplate is ready, fry off the mince beef with the paprika, once golden brown and a little crispy. Set aside

Turn the side burner off for now

Place a pan on the centre trivet and turn the centre burner on high

Sweat down the onion and garlic, once cooked add the black beans, the sauces and mince and cook out for a further 15 minutes. Set aside

Place the pizza stone on top of the trivet

09.

Using all the burners on high and the hood closed preheat your BBQ to 200°C

Switch the centre burner off once the temperature is reached

11.

Spread the base with the sauce mixture, evenly place the cheese and the avocado on the sauce, season and drizzle olive oil all over

12.

Cook on the stone with the hood closed for around 15 minutes until the cheese melts and the base is crispy
